The aim of our project is to develop the social skills of special education students. This is our main goal.
Since special education students do not have enough social interaction with their peers or adults because of their disabilities, their social skills are not as developed as their other peers. For this reason, students' social skills should be supported by schools. Social skills' content is very wide and begins to take shape in childhood. Social skills training can be given in schools or children can learn this by observing adult behavior in a social environment. Research has shown that there is an increase in social skills through creative drama, music, dance, sport and art. Based on this we created KA229 project named: "Social Activities are Necessary for Special Education Needs".
In this project, different methods will be chosen to improve the social skills of special education students and the exchange of these methods between countries. Each partner school will give social skills training to special education students in their chosen way; Drama, seramic, handicraft, music or/and art. The project duration is 24 months.
